During the open-space exhibition visitors had a chance to learn about UN projects with Ukrainian companies in community development, environmental protection, human rights and social reporting.

“The CSR Marketplace initially was aimed to introduce CSR activities of the companies in Ukraine to the general public and to further stimulate partnerships among various stakeholders: business Government and civil society”, stated Maryna Saprykina, Director of Center for CSR Development.

Many companies and organizations presented their activities during the event, among which were the Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sport, United Nations system, Global Compact Network Ukraine, more than 30 companies, Universities, civil society, and media. The exhibits attracted attention of more than 500 hundred participants. CSR Marketplace agenda included a series of thematic round tables and presentation of the results of the survey “CSR 2005 – 2010 in Ukraine: Status and Development Perspective” that was supported by GC Network Ukraine. “Global Compact Network Ukraine appreciates the effort to continue research vis-à-vis CSR integration into the business environment in the country. During the 4 years of its existence in Ukraine, Global Compact was making every effort to encourage social dialogue and stimulate practical actions on the way to sustainability among Ukrainian companies and organizations and will continue to do so considering the findings of the presented survey”, noted Anna Danylyuk, Consultant on Private Sector Engagement, Global Compact Network Ukraine, during the presentation.

Partnerships with business for the achievement of Millennium Development Goals have become a common practice at the United Nations globally, Ukraine is not an exception. A range of UN entities across the system, in particular, IOM, UNAIDS, UNICEF, UNHCR, UNV, WB collaborate with the private sector in various initiatives. Global Compact Network Ukraine is working to support and facilitate the partnerships between UN system and private sector for socio-economic development of the country.

United Nations in Ukraine
The United Nations opened its representative office in Kyiv in 1992. Now the UN System in Ukraine represented by 13 specialized agencies: the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children`s Fund (UNICEF) , the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations High Commisioner For Refugees (UNHCR), the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). Global Compact Network in Ukraine

Global Compact network Ukraine was presented in 2006 and started with 34 companies and organizations. Since that time Ukrainian network has expanded to more than 150 members and the growth continues. The mission of the Ukrainian GC Network is to promote Global Compact,corporate social responsibility in Ukraine and the progress of its members with respect toimplementation of the ten GC principles through learning, dialogue and partnerships.
