21 April, 2011, Кyiv - The eighth UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon received an honorary doctorate from the Kiev National University named after Taras Shevchenko and was robed and hooded by the leadership of the university.

The eighth UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon received an honorary doctorate from the Kiev National University named after Taras Shevchenko and was robed and hooded by the leadership of the university.

The lecture, held in the Great Hall of the Kyiv Institute of International Affairs gathered over 800 students of Kyiv Universities.

Ban Ki-moon shared with students his impressions and views regarding various events in frame of the observance of the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident, as well as his vision of democratic developments in the world and the role and contribution of Ukraine to solving global issues.
