Kiev, February 26, 2013, the roundtable discussion was held with representatives of large business in the framework of the Post-2015 Development Agenda National Consultations with the support of UNDP, ILO and the Federation of Employers of Ukraine.

More than 20 representatives of large businesses such as DTEK, Nadra Bank, Group DF, "Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine" Corporation "Obolon", "Astelit", "MTS Ukraine", "Lvivoblenergo", and Ukrainian Association of Quality discussed the necessity for modernization of enterprises, conducting trainings and life-long education, gender inequality etc.

Olga Balakireva, Head of Department of the Institute of Economics and Forecasting of NASU of Ukraine, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after O.Yaremenko, presented the general concept of the Post-2015 Development Agenda National Consultations and outlined thematic areas of global discussion, inviting all participants to actively debate and make concrete proposals.

Olexiy Miroshnychenko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Employers of Ukraine underlined the need to pay attention to the issue of adequate compliance business to the challenges, requirements of effective resources security and social responsibility.

Galyna Stefanivna Yeliseyenko, Head of Corporate Communications "Lvivoblenergo" shared the great experience of cooperation of the enterprise with universities, participation in career-fairs and emphasized the advisability of raising the status and prestige of working professions.

Participants proposed to include into the set of Post-2015 Development Agenda priorities the following issues: economic growth and job creation, decent work, social responsibility, employment, social protection for vulnerable groups, life-long education, corporate volunteering.

The results of National Consultations in Ukraine will serve as a basis for the development of the National Report "Ukraine: The Post-2015 Development Agenda." Work to identify areas of the Post-2015 Development Agenda was initiated by UN agencies and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and leading institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
