25 November 2015 United Nations and world community commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

It kicks off the 16 days of global activism against Gender-based Violence, until 10 December, Human Rights Day, to halt this gross violation of women’s human rights that affects at least 1 in 3 women and girls in Ukraine and worldwide.

A part of the United Nations Secretary General’s Campaign UNiTE to End Violence against Women, the 16 Days of Activism calls upon activists, governments, parliaments, civil society organizations and UN partners to mobilize people and highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls.

In Ukraine as of November 25 during the 16 days of activism, events will be organized in all parts of the country to draw attention to the issue and stimulate action.
