13 November 2015– The lives of some 700,000 children and the wider population are at risk if repairs to the water network in Ukraine’s conflict-affected regions are not urgently made, warns UNICEF.

7 November 2015 – UNHCR convoy consisting of nine trucks loaded with winterization material passed the check points and arrived in Luhansk. This is the first UN convoy in three months which has delivered supplies to vulnerable communities in areas of Luhansk beyond the government control.

4 November 2015 – UN Humanitarian Chief Stephen O’Brien concluded his three-day visit to Ukraine today, calling for sustained and unimpeded access to the vulnerable communities caught in the middle of the crisis and who urgently need humanitarian aid.

23 October 2015 – On 23 October, with winter looming, the United Nations resumed humanitarian operations in areas in Luhansk beyond government control, after three months of suspension.

26 October 2015 – On 24 October, more than 250 iconic monuments, buildings, museums, bridges and other landmarks in more than 65 countries around the world were lit up blue – the official color of the United Nations, as part of a global campaign to commemorate UN Day and the 70th anniversary of the United Nations.

24 October 2015 – National flags are a mark of pride and patriotism in every country around the world. But there is only one flag that belongs to all of us. That blue flag of the United Nations was a banner of hope for me growing up in wartime Korea.

22 October 2015 – UNICEF and WHO welcome the beginning of immunization activities to stop a polio outbreak in Ukraine, as a nationwide polio vaccination commences in the country to reach over 4.7 million children.

20 October 2015 – The United Nations and partners present the cultural project "Music for Peace Concert" organised on the occasion of 70th anniversary of the UN. During the concert, the voices of performers, both adults and children, from all over Ukraine will be calling for peace.

28 September 2015 – Today the project “World`s Largest Lesson” has been launched in Ukraine with the support of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF). This initiative will take place in 27 cities of Ukraine and, as a result, over 3,000 students will learn about priority goals adopted by world leaders at 70th UN General Assembly last week.

25 September 2015 – A bold new global agenda to end poverty by 2030 and pursue a sustainable future was unanimously adopted today by the 193 Member States of the United Nations at the start of a three-day Summit on Sustainable Development.

GENEVA, 25 September 2015 (UNHCR) - On Wednesday, the authorities of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People`s Republic in eastern Ukraine, decided to expel with immediate effect the international staff of humanitarian agencies, including UNHCR, from the areas they control.

(New York, 24 September 2015) -  I am alarmed by news that the de facto authorities in eastern Ukraine have ordered UN agencies in Luhansk to end operations and to leave the area by tomorrow, 25 September.

18 September 2015 – The United Nations Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, Christof Heyns, today called on the Ukrainian Government and the armed groups operating in the country to put into place a proper system of accountability in order to bringing the current cycle of violence to an end.
