8 March, 2018 – The world celebrates International Women’s Day, dedicated to the rural women and girls this year. Rural women make up over a quarter of the total world population and represent approximately 43% of the agricultural labour force. Rural women are key agents for achieving the transformational economic, environmental and social changes required for sustainable development.

On 12-21 March 2018, to advance the achievement of Ukraine of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a group of UN agencies’ experts will visit Ukraine to support contextualization and adaptation of the Sustainable Development Goals and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to the needs and priorities of Ukraine through mainstreaming, acceleration and policy support approach (MAPS: M-Mainstreaming, A-Acceleration, PS-Policy Support).

28 February 2018, The European Union, EU Member States, the European Parliament and International Organizations were today in Brussels briefed on the dire humanitarian situation faced by 4.4 million conflict-affected people in eastern Ukraine by the Ukraine Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs, the EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator, and the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine and other representatives.

27 February 2018, Kyiv, Ukraine – Representatives of three major organizations gathered in Kyiv recently to tackle issues of food safety and sanitary service in Ukraine.

March 23-24, 2018 - 200 organizers and active participants of the United Nations Models from different regions of Ukraine will share the experience of organizing and participating in the UN Models. The purpose of the conference is to form a community of active participants and organizers of the UN Models to exchange the ideas, experiences and knowledge. Participants of the conference will be also modeling the work of the UN General Assembly. Perception of youth with regards to the current world affairs will be outlined in the resolutions of the Committees and Commissions and voted at the UN General Assembly modelling.

26 February 2018, the New Urban Agenda is the final document of the UN Habitat III conference, which took place in the capital of Ecuador, Kito in 2016, and brought together representatives from 167 countries, including Ukraine.United Nations in Ukraine translated New Urban Agenda into Ukrainian, circulated its printed version to local administrations and City Councils in Ukraine and released a video to raise awareness on urban development issues.

Kyiv, Ukraine (19 February 2018) – In 2018, the Government of Japan, the Government of Ukraine and the United Nations system in Ukraine will continue partnership in addressing humanitarian needs and support recovery in conflict-affected areas of eastern Ukraine. USD 3.6 million of assistance provided by the Government of Japan will be used to address humanitarian needs, support vulnerable groups of population and recovery of eastern regions in Ukraine, through implementation of seven projects by six UN system organizations.

The conference on the assistance which the Government of Japan provides to address the humanitarian needs, support vulnerable groups of population and recovery of eastern regions in Ukraine will be held on 19 February, 11:00 a.m. in the press center of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
